The road over the Patong hill is steep — take it slowly, especially two-up.
Bangla Road is one-way and closed to traffic after 18:00 — plan to park nearby and walk in for the evening.

The Patong hill (Route 4029) demands respect: use engine braking downhill, don't ride the brakes, and skip it entirely at night in heavy rain. Police checkpoints operate at the hill's base and near the beach road — helmet + license + IDP, every time. Parking: use marked bike zones off the beach road; tow trucks do work Patong. Fuel: multiple stations on Phra Barami Rd.
